Holly Tree Is Losing New Small Leaves

Question From: T. Pollock - Hillsborough Township, New Jersey, United States
Q: Holly--35 ft tall, loosing new small leaves now, not the normal old leaves, we fertilized with hollytone  a week ago, and last year too. Last year ,early spring Mulched beneath with mulched wood from down trees from storm Sandy 2012, did mulch cause a problem?

I doubt it. Late season frost hitting tender new leaves will often toast them. Be patient see if the Holly doesn't follow up with a new batch. Do not do any more fertlizing, but do make sure you keep it watered. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
