Holly Tree Has Pea-Size Holes In Trunk

Question From: M. Geramian - NEW YORK
Q: Hello Nancy, I have a 20' holly tree in my backyard that I think it is losing its branches. There is no special sign on its leaves. But, there are several small holes (pea size) all along its stem. The stem was not that visible before, because of very dense leaves and banches. Would you please let me know how I can save this tree? Many thanks,

If you wish to save the tree I recommend you have an onsite inspection from a certified arborist - trained tree doctor. Often times trees are weakened by one problem, and then develop another. Here is a website for finding certified arborists:  http://www.isa-arbor.com/faca/findArborist.aspx  Happy Yardening, Nancy
