Honeysuckle Flowers Are Covered With White Powdery Bugs

Question From: Cudahy, Wisconsin, United States
Q: I cut back my honeysuckle plant last fall. It came back this spring - stronger than ever. All - if not most - of the flower clusters are covered in what looks like aphids. White - powdery. They came on almost overnight. Should I take the plant down? It makes me sick to think of how beautiful it was and now the flower clusters are not even opening. Thank you for your help

A: Take a sample to your local independent garden center for an accurate ID and method of control., A good start would be to hose the plant down with a strong stream of water to wash off the bugs. Best Nancy
