Honeysuckle Has White Stuff All Over And Most Leaves Have Fallen Off

Question From: Paris, Île-de-France, France
Q: I have a honeysuckle bush on a trellis. It got a white stuff all over, and most of the leaves have fallen off. Should I prune it way back?

Your Honesuckle has powdery mildew. It has lost it leaves because it is a deciduous plant and sheds it leaves in falls. If you wish to prune it do so in late winter or early spring. Spray it for powdery mildew when the temperatures reach between 60 and 70 degress at night. Bestand Happy Yardening, Nancy.
