Honeysuckle Has Yellow Leaves And Buds Falling Off Before Flowering

Question From: New Bedford, Massachusetts, United States
Q: My honey suckle has yellow leaves and blooms fall off before flowering?

A: Two things come to mind, Doug. Too much fertlizer and/or aphids. A systemic pesticide, such as Bonide Systemic Granules will take care of the aphids. Do read and follow the directions. Time will take care of the excess fertilizer. Do keep the soil moist at all times. Mulching with an organic material such as bark chips will help the soil retain moisture.
