How Far Can Arborvitae Tree Be Cut Down

Question From: R. GRANDBOIS - Pittsfield, Massachusetts, United States
Q: CAN I CUT A 12FT ARBOVIDIES TREE DOWN TO 7 FT?

Rule of thumb is to not take off more than a third. If the shrubs are healthy and you keep them watered they should be okay. Be careful not to damage side branches that will hopefully grow to cover the stubs. Go to www.gardenatoz.com and enter cutting back an arborvitae in the search box for more information.
