How Late In Season Can A Lawn Be Seeded

Question From: J. Vella - Livonia, Michigan, United States
Q: Is it ok to seed a lawn this time of the year? I Live in Livonia Michigan. Thank You

Joseph, you missed the season. The temperature of the soil needs to be about 50 degrees for the seed to germinate and if it does it will freeze to death. Pack your seed away in a cool dry place and spread it next spring when the soil warms. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
