How Long To Wait Before Using Beneficial Nematodes In Yard After Applying Diatomaceous Earth

Question From: T. Pisanello - Port Jervis, New York, United States
Q: Hi Nancy, I'm in the process of treating my garden/yard for fleas. I just read on your site that I should not use diamateous earth on the same site where I plan to use beneficial nematodes (BN). My dilemma is that I already treated this area with D.E. Is there an amount of time I can wait before adding BN? I read that D.E. becomes ineffective when it gets wet. Perhaps I should wait til after one or 2 good rainfalls? Do you think that would prevent D.E. from harming BN?

I do not have the expertise to answer this question Teresa. I suggest you contact the company you purchased the Beneficial Nematodes from http://www.arbico-organics.com/category/beneficial-nematodes (800) 827-2847 - - Arbico-Organics specializes in organic gardening and should be able to give you good advice. Best regards and thanks for visiting Yardener.com, Nancy.
