How To Care For Sungold Saint Johns Wort

Question From: K. Bergum - OHIO
Q: How do I care for the Sungold St. Johnswort? Can it be cut back? It almost has out grown its space in the one year that it has been planted. Any help would be appreciated.

You can prune this shrub in early Spring as it blooms on new wood. You can cut it back to six to 12 inches every other year. Use a combination of heading and thinning cuts to maintain its shape. Check out Pruning Basics in yardener.com. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
