How To Find A Good Tree For Location

Question From: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States
Q: Looking for a filtered shade evergreen tree in medium size once fully grown 6 metres high and 5 metres spread. Preferably drought tolerant and can take full sun. ROOTS TO NOT LIFT PAVING AND WALLS. I prefer lighter softer looking leaves and I don't mind flowers as long as the tree is not messy. Life in Cape Town. Any suggestions on shortlist of trees? Thank you

I garden in Michigan and am not familiar with trees that do well in Oklahoma. I recommend you contact your city arborist for recommendations. Local arborists should also be helpful. To locate them go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best, Nancy.
