How To Find The Right Holly Tree

Question From: NEW JERSEY
Q: Hello Nancy, I live in center NJ and lost about 25 eastern cedar trees in the storm "Sandy" and I would like replant a dozen or more holly trees to replace and gain the privacy we lost.-- We do have a big deer issue. --50% sun--would like water and wind tolerant--like it to grow no more than 20Ft high. Can you recommend a nice, popular and not too expensive Holly tree, American Holly trees are too expensive, that could meet our criteria? Thank you!! Roger

Sorry for your loss Roger. Unfortunately I can't help you with this one. I am not familiar with the varieties sold in your area, nor the pricing. I suggest you contact your county extension for recommendations. You might also contact the New York unit of the American Conifer Society. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
