Question From: Bellaire, Texas, United States
Q: Hello, I was reading the information on the squash borer and how to kill them. In your information you say to use 1 cc for the syringe with BT. I just injected BT into my squash plants, but I added water to a very small amount of BT. The label says 2 to 4 T per gallon of water. I am at a loss at how to mix this correctly. I do hope you are able to answer this soon since, I believe, the borers are eating as I am emailing. Thank you, Carol Smith
A: Using 4 tablespoons to a gallon. A gallon equals 4 quart, so use one tablespoon per quart of water. There are four cups of water in a quart so in 1 and 1/3 cup of water use 1 teaspoon as there are 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon. So I would use 3/4 of a teaspoon of Bt powder in a cup of water.
