How To Plant Bibb Lettuce From Seed

Question From: T. W. - OHIO
Q: Do you have information on Bibb lettuce? I am doing a science project on planting lettuce and how deep i should plant it. I will be using bibb lettuce. Thanks!

Cover the seeds with a very thin layer of potting soil - about 1/4 inch deep. Moisten the soil before planting and water lightly afterward. When using potting soil I use 3 parts potting soil to 1 part water. Be sure to keep the soil moist. The seeds should germinate in 7 to 10 days. Fertilize when the plants get their second set of leaves. Best Nancy and Happy Yardening.
