How To Propagate Lily Of The Nile

Question From: Livonia, Michigan, United States
Q: I have a Midnight Blue Lilly Of The Nile area and want plant some of their seeds...the flowers are spent and the thin stems are projecting out with green pods at the ends...what do I do with them... plant them, dry them. Or should I Just divide the plants to expand the area? Please advise! Thanks, Paul V. Dodge...Member

Lily of the the Nile is not hardy in here in Michigan. They can be propagated by dividing or by planting seeds. If you plant seeds, you will need patience to get blooming plants as it can take several years. You can search on the Internet for more information about propagating this plant. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
