How To Propagate Liriope

Question From: P. Nickell - ARKANSAS
Q: Can I grow new liriope from the net-like roots, small bits of stems, and little bulbous things that remain in the dirt ( that I have cut into approx. 4-6 inch cubes ) i have left after dividing huge clumps. i feel like if I plant it in the cubes with the roots and stems up, bulbous thingies down, that it would grow! Would it?

Penny, you can plant the bulbs and most should root. Stems without bulbs will not and roots alone will not. Just be sure to keep the soil moist at all times, but not sodden. Good Luck and Happy Yardening, Nancy
