Question From: M. Peace - Mableton, Georgia, United States
Q: This is the first year here in Georgia that my St. John's Wort Sungold's leaves have turned brown. Do I need to cut them way back? Do they bloom on old or new wood?
A: St. John's Wort blooms on new wood and is best pruned after it blooms. That said, you can prune out dead wood that does not leaf out in spring. Watch for bud swell and cut back those branches that are affected. Happy Yardening
