How To Remove Aphids From Tropical Tree

Question From: T. Bloor - MICHIGAN
Q: I have a tropical tree I'm not sure the type, we put it outside in the warmer months and bring it inside for winter.I noticed aphids on the outer tips of the branches, they look orange in color, do have any suggestions on how to get rid of them.

If you can carry it, I'd begin by putting it in the shower and giving it a bath. A stiff stream of water should wash away the aphids. Let the plant dry and then spray it with a pesticide certified for indoor use. I prefer

Azamax

as it it OMRI listed and safe for use around people and animals. You will need to respray it every 7 to 10 days for a month. Happy Yardening, Nancy
