Q: It seems that bindweed has started to take over my garden. Other than pull out all of my garden, how do I get rid of this pest? The flowers sure are pretty, but I need this pest gone soon. Any information on this will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

A: My method is to pull all the vines and in spring paint the leaves of the new growth with Round Up using a sponge brush. Take great care with this herbicide as it will damage or kill any plant it touches. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
