How To Remove Black Bugs From Alice Oak Leaf Hydrangea

Question From: V. Kelsey - Waxahachie, Texas, United States
Q: I live in north, central Texas (Waxahachie), and noticed my Alice Oak Leaf hydrangea looked more stressed than normal for this time of year. On closer examination I noticed very fast moving bugs along the branches. They look to be 1/2" long, and black. What is your recommendation for treatment? I prefer organic but will resort to chemicals if needed. Thanks for your help

Spray the hydrangeas with Bonide's Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew in the evening or early morning when bees are not out. The essential ingredient spinosad is environmentally friendly when used according to directions. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
