How To Remove White Flies From Hibiscus

Question From: Farmington, Michigan, United States
Q: I have a lovely hibiscus that I keep in the house and put on the deck in the summer. This spring it became infested with 100s of white flys. I don't want to throw it out but don't know how to get rid of them. I tried a spray from English Gardens. Didn't work??

A: I recommmend you first spray the plant with a stiff stream of water. Be sure to hit the under-sides of the leaves. Let it dry. Then spray with Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew by Bonide. Repeat the process every three days until no more white flys appear. Again, be sure to hit the undersides of the leaves. These things are tough to get rid of. Good Luck, Nancy and Happy Yardening.
