How To Shade Hostas From Sun

Question From: MICHIGAN
Q: Hi, Nancy, I have been using old white cotton sheets to protect my hostas from intense sun. area used to be shade; now full sun because a large tree was recently taken down. I remove the sheets daily when shade comes to this area. I read about this method in my research. Your comments, please. Thanks, Nancy

I am impressed with your effort. I think I would look for a better way to give your plants some shade from the hot afternoon sun. A permanent structure with a lattice or shade cloth ceiling comes to mind. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
