How To Shade Hostas That Are Now In Full Sun After Tree Removal

Question From: Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, United States
Q: Hello, Nancy, read with interest your August 12 column on shading plants in this hot weather. My large leaf hostas are now in full sun after having been protected from the mature junipers which had to be taken out. I myself was thinking of shading them. They face South, but are exposed to the West sun. Would I use the same type screening you wrote about in your column? They were so beautiful, but now sun damaged. Thanks so much! Cindy Lock

I would consider something permanent, such as a lattice structure. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
