Q: I have received a potted Alberta Spruce, what do I have to do with it during the winter until I can plant it outside in my yard in the spring??
A:
It needs to spend the winter outdoors. Place it in a protected area and place half a dozen ice cubes on the surface of the soil ever couple of weeks if the weather warms. A porch or other covered area would be perfect. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
