How To Successfully Cut And Enjoy Magnolia Flowers

Question From: Lawrence Township, New Jersey, United States
Q: Hello. I have a pretty magnolia grandiflora in my back yard that is really blooming right now. Several years go I tried cutting and floating the beautiful flower in a crystal bowl. In no time the creamy white petal turned brown. What was I doing wrong. Is there a secret to their success off the tree? Many thanks if you can get back to me with any suggestions. Sally

One of the secrets is cutting them when they are just opening. Here's a website I found that gives lots of tips good luck. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
