How To Treat Boxwood Blight

Question From: F. Stoneburner - CALIFORNIA
Q: My boxwood bushes are suffering from blight. What is the best way to treat them. I have had differing views on the subject. One was to prune the bush back at the stem below the infected area. This would severely damage the appearance of the bushes. Another opinion I received was to treat the bushes with Bug B Gone 3 in 1 Rose and Flower care. Which or both methods do you suggest?

There is no cure for boxwood blight. The plants should be dug and destroyed. That said, your boxes may have another disease. I recommend you have an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. Go to www.isa-arbor.com to find one in your area. Happy Yardening, Nancy
