How To Treat Impatiens With Folding Leaves

Question From: ALABAMA
Q: How do I treat impatients with folding leaves

A: If the leaves are curling downward your impatiens may have downy mildew. This is a deadly virus for which there is no cure. The plants, roots and all should be removed, sealed in a garbage bag and tossed out. I would take a couple of samples, sealed in a plastic sandwich bag to an independent garden center for an accurate ID. It is recommended that impatiens not be planted in that soil for at least 3 years. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
