Question From: MICHIGAN
Q: Summer Patch disease. I recently sent a few pictures to Michigan State of some areas of my grass that has deteriorated. MSU identified the problem as either Summer Patch or Necrotic ring spot (to me, it looks like Summer Patch). How should it be addressing this problem now (in the fall) and next spring). Dethatch? MSU soil test? Aerate (have never done this), Fertilizer or fungicide control? I'd like to re seed the area this fall. First picture is from second story. Other 2 images are close ups

A: My grass guru recommends a fungicide labled for these two diseases. The fetilizer we would use is Grass Magic that contains beneficial organisms. It's avalable at English Gardens. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
