How To Trim A Hydrangea That Does Not Bloom

Question From: M. Perkins - MICHIGAN
Q: What is the correct way to trim a hydrangea that grows very large in the summer but does not blossom. I've been advised it is the way it is cut back - can't cut too low or too high. Would appreciate a response - thanks.

Pruning in fall will cut off all the buds. Try feeding it with Holly Tone by Espoma in late fall or early winter. Prune after it blooms - hopefully. Also keep it watered. Good Luck and Happy Yardening, Nancy.
