Question From: Troy, Michigan, United States
Q: I was at Foglers this past weekend and picked up some hanging baskets, I'm the envy of the neighborhood. My question is how does one or does Fogler's trim back the hanging pots of Petunias. Is there a trick ? When I trim back I either trim too much or not correctly. Do you trim from underneath them or with shears like a shrub. Please help me ...Thank you look forward to your response.
A: Take your thumb nail and forefinger nail and pinch off a stem leaving about a third on the plant, Pinch just below a node. I pinch of one or two every week or so to keep the color constant. Next time you drop into Foglers ask Kathy Miller for a lesson. Tell her I sent you. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
