Question From: Lincoln City, Oregon, United States
Q: I have 15' tall arborvitae hedge outlining my property. The roots spread about as far from the trunks as they are tall . One of your suggestions is to water with soaker hoses during a drought. Will this be sufficient?
A: Depends on the type of soil you have and the amount of rainfall in your area. Arbs planted in sand will need water if it doesn't rain on a regular basis. Check the moisture in the soil an inch below ground level and water if it is dry. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
