Hyacinth Has Tiny Bugs That Fly Off When Touched

Question From: Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States
Q: I have a hyacinth tree/bush and it has developed tiny bugs that seem to fly off it when I touch it, particularly on the flowers. What is it and what causes it?

If it is a blue hyacinth tree - the jacaranda tree, It is not hardy where you live.the tiny bugs may be white fly. Neem oil will work as will a systemic. If you are taking it indoors for the winter I would use the neem oil followed shortly by systemic. Get these products and a more accurate Id at an independent garden center.
