Hyacinths Never Fully Rounded Out

Question From: UTAH
Q: My hyacinths are never fully rounded, sometimes only one side blooms. They get good sunshine and water. Should I replant them somewhere else? When is the best time to do so?

The best time to transplant hyacinths is when they are dormant in fall. Mark the location so you can find them when the time comes. My guess is that your bulbs are old the buds have suffered severe cold damage after they have broken dormancy. A more protected area might give your better luck. The John Scheepers website is filled with good information about growing hyacinths. (www.johnscheepers.com) Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
