Question From: L. Trowbridge - Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, United States
Q: I have a Hybrid Poplar that starts shedding it's leaves in mid July. The leaves are dead and brown. The tree is about 9 years old and we think is fully grown at about 60 feet. The leave shedding started about 3 years ago. Is there anything we can do to stop this? The leaves are all over the yard and it looks like November in August. We are located in NJ on the coast. Thanks!

A: The time to deal with the issue was 3 years when you first noticed the tree in stress - shedding its leaves. Excessive and heat has taken its toll on trees. If it were my tree I would get and onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
