Identifying And Treating Spider Mites

Question From: J. George - KANSAS
Q: One of about 12 plants is infestated with millions of tiny red bugs?? They are on only one of the plants and seem to be causing some leaf damage, but not any visible signs that the insects are eating the leaves, they just are thick on about half of the leaves of one dark green plant. Do I need to spray a insect killer or would that hurt my plant??

You probably have spider mites. They are sucking bugs so you won't see holes. The color will look faded. Bonide's Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew will take care of them. Repeat applications every 7 days. Be sure to spray inder the leaves. Happy Yardening, Nancy
