Impatiens Seem Healthy But Flowers Have Brown On Them

Question From: M. Lapierre - Glendale, California, United States
Q: My impatience are blooming and looking healthy except the flowers have brown in them / on them. What am I doing wrong? Thank you Nancy! Markie

A: Markie, I don't have a crystal ball. Spots on flowers may be caused fertilizer burn. Chemical fertilizers are high in salts that can damage tender flower petals. Applying chemicals when temperatures exceed 85 degrees and/or in sunlight can also cause burning. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
