Q: I use a 19-19-19 nitrogen fertilizer that I buy at Chaps feed supply. is this a good fertilizer and is it the slow release nitrogen, or is it not. What kind of numbers do I have to look at to make sure that I do buy the right product. The ones I purchase at their store do not show whether its a slow release product.

Peter, I am not familiar with Chaps and without a brand name I can't help you. The bag should tell you what the product is derived from. You should be able to go to their website to get this information and the manager at Chaps should also be able to tell you. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
