Is It Ok To Just Cut Off Hydrangea Flowers That Have Turned Dark Brown

Q: I have four Hydrangea trees in my backyard and for years when the flowers turned a dark brown I cut them off not touching any branches and they come back in the spring just fine. Is it ok to keep doing that?
