Japanese Maple Has Leaves On Only One Side

Question From: Yakima, Washington, United States
Q: my Japanese maple only has leaves on one side. It has been in my yard for 2 or 3 years. Any answer as to what is wrong and how I can correct it. I live in Yakima WA

I recommend you have an on-site inspection from a tree doctor, a certified arborist. Could be winter kill, disease, chemical damage - a host of things. You need a trained eye. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
