Juniper Tree Has Yellow Gooey Blobs On Twigs

Question From: KENTUCKY
Q: My juniper tree has developed yellow gooey blobs on the twigs. Is this a fungus or other blight I should treat for?

A:

Sounds like apple cedar rust. Take a sample to your local independent garden center or nursery for a positive ID. They should have a fungicide that is labeled for the fungus. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
