Question From: WISCONSIN
Q: Our Katsura tree started to bud and then we had a late freeze and now it seems the tree has stopped growing it still has very small green leaves and the limbs are green, but not sure why it has stopped and wondering if it will be ok?
A: I talked to a certified arborist about this issue. Many trees in Michigan are suffering also. It's a result of the crazy weather patterns. The good news is trees have several sets of latent buds and in most cases produce new sets of leaves. Be patient and Mother Nature will do her thing. Fertilizer will not help. Just make sure the tree doesn't suffer from lack of water if rain is lacking. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy,
