Knock-out Roses Do Not Have Many Blooms And Do Not Seem Healthy

Question From: Fulton, Maryland, United States
Q: my knock-out roses were doing terrible, not many roses and the plants did not look good. I cut them back and now they don't seem to be coming back much. I did fertilize them in spring.

A: They may have contracted the virus rose rosette. Once established it is fatal and the plants should be removed and disposed of in the garbage.
