Lambs Ear And Russian Sage Have Dead And Dying Leaves

Q: Can you please help me with my lambs ear and russian sage? Earlier this ear I sprayed the lambs ear and russian sage with 7. I have pulled away the dead undergrowth of the lambs ear. It just looks terrible. So does my sage.

A: Sevin is a toxic pesticide for killing insects. Your plants appear to have a fungus. Tidy them up by cutting away all the dead and dying leaves and they may be fine. If leaves continue to yellow take samples to you local independent garden center or nursery for a more accurate ID and control. Excessive water and fertilizing will weaken these plants.
