Lambs Ear Has White Egg Casings Full Of Small Yellow Eggs

Question From: d. amalfitano - Carrabelle, Florida, United States
Q: I purchased Lambs ear, beautiful plants. One had white egg casings all on the under side of the leaves, infested. I plucked one off, smashed it, was full of small yellow eggs. Another had a few, but had a caterpillar--green exactly same color, with nasty looking black tips on it's feet, munching on the leaves. Do you know what this is?

A: Sorry to say I can't help you on this one. I live in Michigan so I am not familiar with the pests in your zone. I applaud you for trying to identify the critter. In the future I would take it or a picture of it to an independent nursery in your area for an on-site Id. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
