Lawn Mowed When Too Hot

Question From: L. Delaney - Redding, California, United States
Q: Recently I mowed my lawn when it was about 105 F. A couple of days later, I notice the grass looks dead in some of the mower wheel tracks. I had watered the day before and there was about 3 inches of grass remaining. What happened?

It may be bruised and scorched. Nothing likes to be sliced, diced and squashed in 105 degrees. Keep it watered and see if it doesn't come back. Whatever you do. Do not fertilize it No plant should be fertlized when temps rise about 85 degrees. Have beer and relax. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
