Lilies Of The Valley Are Dying Off In Yard In Hot Dry Weather

Question From: R. Elliott - Summit, New Jersey, United States
Q: Lilies of the Valley are dying off in my yard this year after many years of prosperity. I noticed a similar situation at several homes in my neighborhood. I do not see obvious signs of fungus described online although this is not my area of expertise. It has been a hot and dry summer here in New Jersey, but my flower beds are watered automatically three times a week.

A: Lilly of the Valley hates dry, hot weather and will die back and go dormant in summer. I think that is what's happening to yours. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
