Question From: T. Allen - Delta, Colorado, United States
Q: We have a honey locust tree both last year and this year we have leaves falling, an extreme amount. The tree is very thin with leaves now, every time it blows tons of leaves fall. We began watering it more often and two to three feet beyond the width of the branches. We live in a dry area and water nearly every day. Gave it some systemic insect killer last month when it all started. This is a 20 year old tree and until last year was very heathly.
A: Watering daily is overkill. Once a week should be plenty. If it were my tree I would have it inspected by a certified arborist - a trained tree doctor. Bad guesses could cost you the tree. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
