Lower Branches Of Blue Spruce Were Burnt By Fire

Question From: V. Tennant - Delta, Colorado, United States
Q: We have a blue spruce tree that is about 25 feet in height. There was a brush fire that burnt some of the lower branches of the tree on one side. Will the tree survive that and what will happen with the area that is burnt. Will it become diseased and later kill the tree

I can't answer that. Depends on the amount of damage. The burned branches will not regrow. Be sure to keep it watered. You may want to enlist the help of a professional. To find a certified arborist in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
