Magnolia Tree Leaves Turned Brown In Fall And Have Remained On The Tree Into Spring

Question From: m. scoggins - Arab, Alabama, United States
Q: I have 2 magnolia trees in my yard they are 12 years old last fall the leaves turned brown and they did not fall this year they are still hanging on but the tree looks dead ?

I live in Michigan and have no experience with Southern Magnolias. I suggest see if the branches still have life. Scratch the bark and look for green. I would get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
