Magnolia Tree Roots Have Yellow Orange Growth

Question From: T. Hulin - New Iberia, Louisiana, United States
Q: I have some kind of yellow/orange stuff growing on the roots of my magnolia tree. I take it off and it grows back and my roots seem to be collasping and getting muchie, what can I do to stop this ?

Sounds like some sort of root rot. If it were my tree I would get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one in your area to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best Nancy
