Marigold Leaves Are Purple And Curling Up

Question From: R. Rastall - Spokane, Washington, United States
Q: I planted my Marigolds about a week ago , the temp wasn't below 36 degrees since l planted ... The leaves are purple , and some are curling up .. The bottom leaves are green and seem healthy ... I pinched the blooms off this morning ... Any help would be greatly appreciated ...

These are annual plants that thrive in warm weather. They are freezing to death. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
